Application of Reverse Osmosis System in Industrial Wastewater Treatment
Apr. 19, 2021
Industrial wastewater treatment is an area where RO technology is most widely
used in addition to desalination and pure water preparation. Industrial
wastewater treatment has multiple meanings such as reducing production costs,
protecting the environment, and realizing wastewater resources. Because RO
membranes have high requirements for influent water, when using RO technology
for advanced treatment of wastewater, pretreatment processes such as
sedimentation, coagulation, microfiltration, ultrafiltration, activated carbon
absorption, and pH adjustment are often combined.
Reverse Osmosis System Industrial Water Treatment
1. Heavy metal wastewater treatment
RO technology has been applied earlier in the treatment of heavy metal wastewater, and a large number of studies have been carried out at home and abroad. As early as the 1970s, RO technology has been applied in electroplating wastewater treatment, mainly for the treatment of nickel, chromium, zinc rinsing water and mixed heavy metal wastewater on a large scale.
2. Printing and dyeing wastewater treatment
Printing and dyeing textile wastewater not only has high chromaticity, large water volume, but also complex composition. The wastewater contains dyes, sizing agents, oils, additives, acids and alkalis, fiber impurities, and inorganic salts. The dye structure also contains a lot of biological toxicity. The substances, such as nitro and amine compounds and heavy metal elements such as copper, chromium, zinc, arsenic, etc., will cause serious pollution to the environment if they are discharged directly without treatment.
